A new dawn

Welcome to my new Blog ... 
Is probably not the most original opening but I'm a virgin.... and virgins openings are easily forgiven right ? ... A rhetorical question, for as yet I have no idea how to engage in a two way exchange. "Fear not, that gap will be filled" (ref:virgins handbook ~ Chpt.1).

So why is a 53 year old virgin (circa 1964) throwing himself at the mercy of a seasoned blogging format. When "Instagram" is such an available seductress, with an easily pleased and appreciative audience of eager "likers"? .... Well, my wife, ( the tourist ) pretty much has that covered, rolling out perfect images of the things she loves (@thissuitcase) , whilst I provide technical support and compete for a few "likes" myself (#mywifethetourist).
Whilst hungrily waiting for my "Sunny Day" cocktail and "Club Sandwich" to be rearranged to please an Instagram audience, it occurred to me that this time could be spent sharing a kerbside view of Social Media World in the shadow of  my Wife, the tourist.

So I "googled" Blogging and was promised that I would lose my Blogging Virginity in 4 minutes (beating my previous Virginity record by 3 mins & 30 seconds - including the cigarette afterwards) That was 3 hours ago and I'm still here ...

• Tapping out my first post under the Algarve Sun, having just managed to avoid Hurricane Irma by abandoning our Florida road trip. 
• Doing battle with a windows based platform on an old iPad 2, where "Likers" become "Lickers" under the watchful eye of autocorrect. ... And that took 10 minutes to write !
• Wondering how my blog will look once I've learned how to use it

And so it begins .... The hapless ramblings and observations of a traveller's spouse.
